Could less radiation be enough for some advanced head and neck cancers?
NCT ID NCT07328841
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study is for people with advanced nasopharyngeal cancer (a type of head and neck cancer) whose tumors shrink significantly after initial chemotherapy and immunotherapy. It tests whether a lower dose of radiation therapy is as effective as the standard dose, with fewer side effects. About 456 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either reduced-dose or conventional-dose radiation, along with standard chemotherapy and immunotherapy. The goal is to see if the lower dose can still prevent the cancer from coming back or spreading.
