First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study looked at 143 people in China who needed a second surgery after their first rectal cancer operation failed or the cancer came back. The goal was to find out what helps these repeat surgeries succeed in letting patients poop normally again, without a permanent bag. Researchers also checked how well the bowel worked after recovery.
