First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests a new treatment approach for people with high-risk locally advanced rectal cancer. It combines a short course of radiation (with a boost to the tumor) with chemotherapy and an immunotherapy drug before surgery. The goal is to see if this combination can make tumors shrink more or even disappear completely, while keeping side effects manageable. About 37 participants will be enrolled.
