Radiation dose showdown: can more radiation save rectums from surgery?
NCT ID NCT04095299
Summary
This study is testing whether a higher dose of radiation, combined with chemotherapy, is better than the standard dose at helping people with early-stage rectal cancer avoid major surgery. The goal is to control the cancer while preserving the rectum, improving quality of life. About 162 patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard or the higher radiation dose.
