Mapping cancer spread to guide safer rectal surgery
NCT ID NCT07202169
Summary
This study aims to understand how low rectal cancer spreads within the bowel wall at different stages. Researchers examined 106 patients to determine how far cancer cells spread from the main tumor, which helps surgeons decide how much healthy tissue to remove during surgery. The findings provide guidance for creating more precise surgical plans to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
