First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study compares two ways of giving extra radiation after standard chemoradiation to people with stage II rectal cancer. The goal is to see if a higher dose can destroy the tumor completely, allowing patients to avoid surgery and keep their rectum. About 131 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either an external beam boost or a brachytherapy boost.
