Foam rolling after a run: does it really ease soreness?

NCT ID NCT07439523

First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding foam rolling to light jogging helps clear lactate and reduce muscle soreness after a 400-meter sprint. Twenty male university athletes took part. One group did light jogging only, while the other also foam-rolled their legs. The researchers measured blood lactate, heart rate, and muscle soreness at several time points. The goal was to see if foam rolling improves recovery.
