Summary
This study tested a program to help people in Chicago start medication for opioid use disorder after a naloxone-reversed overdose. 251 adults who had an overdose and were not in treatment were randomly assigned to either the new program or standard referral. The program provided assertive support to link people to treatment and help them stay on medication.
