Summary

This study tested if a lab-made version of the protein albumin works as well as the standard human-derived albumin for treating fluid buildup (ascites) in people with advanced liver disease. About 390 adults with cirrhosis and ascites took part. The goal was to see if the lab-made version is safe and effective at raising albumin levels and reducing fluid buildup.
