New study: can a smart sensor beat finger sticks for diabetes control?
NCT ID NCT05944432
First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looks at whether using a continuous glucose monitor (FreeStyle Libre 3) helps adults with type 2 diabetes improve their blood sugar levels compared to traditional finger-stick testing. About 470 people whose blood sugar is not well controlled will use either the monitor or standard testing for 16 weeks. The goal is to see if the monitor leads to better average blood sugar (HbA1c) and more time in a healthy range.
