Glowing dye could spare breast cancer patients from unnecessary lymph node removal

NCT ID NCT07154563

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests a special dye that makes cancer cells glow in lymph nodes removed during breast cancer surgery. The goal is to quickly tell if the cancer has spread, so surgeons can remove only the affected nodes and avoid extra surgery that can cause swelling and other problems. About 60 adults with breast cancer will take part, and the dye's accuracy will be checked against standard lab tests.
