New heat probe aims to zap small liver tumors more safely

Summary

This study looks at a new type of electrode used in radiofrequency ablation, a treatment that uses heat to destroy small liver cancers (up to 3 cm). The goal is to see if this new device can better control tumor regrowth and reduce damage to nearby organs. About 76 adults with liver cancer and mild to moderate liver disease will take part.
