Zapping cancer spots: radiation may replace chemo for some kidney patients
NCT ID NCT03575611
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tests whether focused, high-dose radiation (SBRT) can control kidney cancer that has spread to a few spots in the body. The goal is to see if this approach can delay or avoid the need for systemic treatments like chemotherapy or immunotherapy. About 123 participants with metastatic kidney cancer will receive radiation to their tumors, and researchers will track how long the cancer stays under control and how long patients can stay off stronger drugs.
