Could fewer rabies shots be just as effective? major trial underway

NCT ID NCT07275645

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests a rabies vaccine using different shot schedules to see if fewer doses still provide strong protection. About 3,000 healthy people aged 10 to 60 will receive the vaccine in one of five schedules, including a standard 5-dose plan and shorter 4-dose options. Researchers will measure immune responses and track side effects to find the safest, most effective schedule.
