New rabies vaccine shows promise in thai trial

NCT ID NCT04478084

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tested a new rabies vaccine (VRVg) in 403 healthy volunteers in Thailand. The goal was to see if the vaccine triggers a strong immune response when given in two different injection schedules after a pretend rabies exposure. Some adults also received rabies antibodies (HRIG or ERIG) along with the vaccine. The results will help determine if this vaccine is a safe and effective option for preventing rabies after a bite.
