First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 34 times
Summary
This early-stage study tested a new version of the schizophrenia medication risperidone given as a shot every three months. Researchers wanted to see how the drug moves through the body and if it is safe. 58 adults with stable schizophrenia who already take oral risperidone received a single injection. The goal is to develop a longer-lasting option to help patients stay on treatment.
