First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a special nerve block called Quadro-Iliac can reduce pain and the need for painkillers after hip surgery. 60 adults who had hip surgery were split into two groups: one got the nerve block plus a patient-controlled pain pump, the other got only the pump. Researchers measured how much opioid pain medicine they used and their pain scores over 24 hours.
