First seen May 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving a nerve block (QLB) before or after kidney surgery provides better pain relief. 100 adults undergoing open nephrectomy received the block either before or after the operation. The goal was to see which timing reduces the need for strong painkillers and delays the first request for extra pain medication.
