New gout drug aims to crush flare pain in 72 hours

Summary

This study tests a new medicine, punarlimab, for people with acute gouty arthritis (sudden, painful joint flares). About 170 adults who have had at least 3 gout attacks in the past year will receive either punarlimab or an active comparator. The main goal is to see how well punarlimab reduces pain 72 hours after the first dose.
