Doctors launch major study to predict which lung clot patients will get worse

NCT ID NCT07491094

Summary

This study aims to better understand how serious blood clots in the lungs (pulmonary embolism) change in the first few days. Researchers will closely track 400 hospitalized patients with these serious clots, taking repeated heart and blood tests over 48 hours. The goal is to see if these changing patterns can better predict who might get sicker, and to create a long-term tracking system to improve care for all patients with this condition.
