New hope for Veterans' PTSD: Hormone-Based treatment shows promise
NCT ID NCT03799562
Summary
This study tested whether pregnenolone, a natural hormone, could help reduce PTSD symptoms in Iraq/Afghanistan-era veterans. Over 10 weeks, 96 veterans with PTSD received either pregnenolone or a placebo pill while continuing their regular medications. Researchers measured changes in PTSD symptoms, depression, and pain to see if the treatment provided relief.
