Can writing heal trauma? new study tests quicker PTSD therapy for teens
NCT ID NCT07498257
Summary
This study aims to see if a shorter therapy called Written Exposure Therapy (WET) can help teens with PTSD as effectively as the current standard treatment. Researchers will first adapt WET for ages 12-18, then test it against Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in 48 teens. The goal is to see if the shorter, 5-7 session WET approach can reduce PTSD symptoms and improve access to care.
