Surfer's eye surgery could sharpen blurry vision, new study shows

NCT ID NCT07198126

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at how removing a pterygium (a fleshy growth on the eye) and placing a small tissue graft changes the shape of the cornea and reduces blurry vision caused by astigmatism. About 130 adults aged 30 to 70 with moderate to advanced pterygium will have their eye curvature measured before and one month after surgery. The goal is to see how much the surgery improves vision quality by making the cornea more regular.
