First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tested whether a type of talk therapy called interpersonal psychotherapy-based counseling could help people on hemodialysis adjust to their illness and feel less depressed. 48 adults on dialysis for at least 6 months took part. For 8 weeks, some received the counseling while others got usual care. The goal was to see if the therapy improved how they cope and lowered depressive symptoms.
