New AI app aims to help NHS patients with sexual problems during long wait times
NCT ID NCT07152847
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new app that provides education, exercises, and mindfulness tools for people with sexual dysfunction who are on an NHS waiting list for therapy. The app uses artificial intelligence to personalize the experience. Researchers will measure changes in sexual function, well-being, and quality of life over 16 weeks in 150 adults. The goal is to see if the app can offer helpful support while patients wait for professional treatment.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Psychosexual education app with artificial intelligence
- What this could lead to
- If effective, this app could provide immediate support for people waiting for psychosexual therapy, potentially reducing symptoms and easing strain on NHS services.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small pilot study with no control group, so results may not be conclusive. The app is not a replacement for therapy, and benefits may vary.
