Quick therapy vs. waiting: which works better for mental health?

NCT ID NCT06916429

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looks at whether people with common mental health issues like anxiety or depression feel better faster when they start psychotherapy within two weeks, compared to those placed on a waiting list for about four and a half months. About 308 adults referred by their doctor in Denmark will be randomly assigned to either start therapy soon or wait. Researchers will track symptoms using questionnaires to see if early treatment leads to greater improvement.
