A simple conversation could ease cancer Patients' mental burden

Summary
This study looks at whether having a detailed initial meeting with a psycho-oncology counselor soon after a cancer diagnosis can lower anxiety and depression and improve quality of life. About 148 newly diagnosed cancer patients will be randomly assigned to either receive this extra counseling plus standard care, or standard care alone. Researchers will track their emotional well-being and use of support services over six months.
