First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study looks at whether having a psychiatric service dog makes Prolonged Exposure Therapy work better for veterans with PTSD. About 216 veterans who already qualify for a service dog will take part. Researchers will measure PTSD symptoms using questionnaires and clinician interviews to see if the dog-and-therapy combo leads to greater improvement.
