Scientists probe magic Mushroom's Brain-Changing powers
NCT ID NCT06692192
Summary
This University of Wisconsin study aims to understand how psilocybin (the active compound in 'magic mushrooms') affects the brain's ability to adapt and change, and how this relates to mood improvements. Researchers will give 60 healthy adults with mild emotional wellbeing concerns different dose combinations of psilocybin and compare them using brain scans, questionnaires, and brain stimulation tests. The goal is to learn how psilocybin creates its effects, not to treat any medical condition.
