First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested whether injecting a mix of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) works better than either alone for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) osteoarthritis. 42 adults with TMJ arthritis received one of three injection types. Researchers measured pain levels and how wide the mouth could open. The goal was to find a simple, non-surgical way to ease pain and improve jaw movement.
