Could a blood injection boost hand surgery recovery?
NCT ID NCT04811287
Summary
This study aimed to see if adding platelet-rich plasma (PRP), a concentrated component of a patient's own blood, to standard carpal tunnel release surgery could lead to better recovery for people with severe carpal tunnel syndrome. It compared surgery with PRP to surgery alone in a small group of 15 participants. The trial was terminated early, and its results are not yet known.
