New voice device could mean fewer surgeries for throat cancer survivors

Summary
This study compares two types of voice prostheses for people who have had their voice box removed due to cancer. The goal is to see if using the Provox ActiValve regularly reduces how often the device needs to be replaced. About 48 adults who are at least 6 months past cancer treatment and have no current cancer will take part. The study will track safety and device lifespan.
