Proton therapy may cut side effects in throat cancer battle

Summary
This study tests if a newer type of radiation called proton beam therapy causes fewer side effects than standard X-ray radiation for people with advanced throat cancer. About 440 participants will receive either proton or standard radiation to see which better controls the cancer and reduces long-term harm. The goal is to improve quality of life without compromising treatment success.
