Shorter radiation course tested for Hard-to-Treat skull tumors

NCT ID NCT05861245

Summary

This study is testing a shorter, more convenient schedule of proton beam radiation therapy for people with rare, slow-growing tumors at the base of the skull (chordomas and chondrosarcomas). The goal is to see if delivering the total radiation dose in just 5 sessions, instead of many more, is safe and effective at controlling the tumor. Researchers will carefully monitor side effects, tumor control on MRI scans, and patients' quality of life.
