Smoothie study tests if plant protein can mimic Meat's effects

NCT ID NCT07121010

Summary

This study aims to understand how animal-based and plant-based protein smoothies affect metabolism and immune system signals in healthy adults. Researchers will give 20 participants three different smoothies (animal protein, plant protein, and plant protein with added leucine) and measure changes in their blood. The goal is to see if adding leucine to a plant-based smoothie makes the body respond similarly to how it does to animal protein.
