Study tests if protein 'Snacks' beat a drip for sick Kids' muscles
NCT ID NCT06721923
Summary
This study aims to find out if giving protein in small, frequent amounts (bolus) is better than a slow, continuous drip at helping critically ill children maintain their weight and muscle mass. It will involve 96 children, aged 1 to 11, in the pediatric intensive care unit. Researchers will measure the children's arm size and thigh muscle using ultrasound to compare the two feeding methods.
