New study aims to take the guesswork out of prosthetic fit

NCT ID NCT07521891

First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at how well prosthetic sockets fit people with below-knee amputations by measuring movement between the socket and the leg during everyday activities like walking. Twenty participants will test three different suspension systems using a clear replica of their own socket. The goal is to help doctors and prosthetists choose the best fit for each person.
