Could 6 months of hormone therapy be as good as 18 for prostate cancer?

NCT ID NCT07364071

First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests whether a shorter course of hormone therapy (6 months) combined with radiation works as well as the standard longer course (18 months) for men with high-risk prostate cancer. About 150 participants will receive radiation plus either short or long hormone therapy and be followed for 5 years. The goal is to see if the shorter treatment can reduce side effects without increasing the risk of cancer returning or needing more therapy.
