Summary
This study tested whether a multimedia educational program helps African American men and their doctors make shared decisions about prostate cancer screening. 161 African American men aged 40-69 who had no prior prostate cancer took part. Half received the educational program, and the other half received usual care. The goal was to see if the program improved how involved patients were in the screening decision.
