First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested a new, highly precise type of radiation therapy for prostate cancer. The goal was to deliver a strong dose of radiation in just five treatments while protecting nearby organs like the bladder and rectum. 444 men with localized prostate cancer took part. The approach used special tracking and a rectal balloon to keep the prostate still, aiming to reduce side effects and control the cancer.
