DNA test may predict radiation side effects for prostate cancer patients

NCT ID NCT04624256

First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a DNA-based test can help predict which prostate cancer patients are more likely to have side effects from radiation therapy. About 208 men with early-stage prostate cancer will have their DNA tested for a marker linked to radiation sensitivity. Doctors and patients will see the results to help decide on the best radiation dose. The goal is to see if knowing this information can reduce long-term urinary side effects.
