New scan could catch hidden prostate cancers in men avoiding treatment

NCT ID NCT07285057

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a special PET/CT scan (rhPSMA-7.3) to the usual MRI can find more aggressive prostate cancers in men with low-risk cancer who are monitoring their condition. About 120 men will get both scans before a biopsy to see which method spots dangerous cancers better. The goal is to improve detection without unnecessary treatment.
