Genetic screening may spare Low-Risk veterans from unnecessary prostate biopsies

Summary
This study looks at whether a genetic test can better identify which men ages 55-69 are at risk for serious prostate cancer and which are not. Current screening methods often lead to unnecessary biopsies. The goal is to see if using genetic information can help high-risk men get needed treatment while helping low-risk men avoid extra procedures. About 5,000 male Veterans will take part.
