Gut bugs may boost psoriasis treatment
NCT ID NCT07169019
Summary
This small pilot study is testing whether taking daily probiotics alongside the standard psoriasis medication methotrexate can improve treatment results and gut health. Researchers will compare two groups of 24 adults with newly diagnosed psoriasis: one taking both probiotics and methotrexate, and one taking methotrexate alone for four months. The main goals are to see if probiotics help reduce psoriasis severity more effectively and cause positive changes in the participants' gut bacteria.
