Good bacteria for gassy babies: new study tests probiotic to stop colic before it starts

Summary
This study is testing whether giving healthy newborns a probiotic supplement (L. reuteri) can prevent colic and excessive crying. About 768 babies will receive either the probiotic or a placebo daily for the first 3 months. Researchers will track crying, fussiness, and stool patterns to see if the probiotic helps.
