This study tested whether a probiotic supplement called Akkermansia muciniphila Akk11 can help overweight or obese adults improve their metabolism and gut health. 110 participants took either the probiotic or a placebo daily. Researchers measured changes in key hormones related to appetite and metabolism, such as GLP-1 and leptin.
