Scientists hunt for early warning signs in families with devastating brain diseases
NCT ID NCT05124392
Summary
This study aims to find early biological signs in people who carry a genetic risk for prion diseases like Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) but don't yet have symptoms. Researchers will follow 150 participants with annual checkups that include blood tests, spinal fluid collection, and memory tests. The goal is to learn how to predict when the disease might start and to help design future prevention trials.
