Blood clot breakthrough: new treatment may ease pain after wisdom tooth surgery

NCT ID NCT07351279

First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a patient's own platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) in the tooth socket after removing an impacted wisdom tooth can reduce sensitivity and improve gum health on the nearby second molar. About 56 adults aged 18-40 with specific types of impaction will be treated. The goal is to see if PRF works better than a normal blood clot for healing.
