First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tested a computer-guided ventilator method (REDvent) in 248 critically ill children to see if it could prevent breathing muscle weakness caused by the ventilator itself. The approach adjusts ventilator support in real time to keep the child's breathing effort normal. The goal was to reduce the time children need a breathing machine and improve recovery.
