Drug trial aims to stop cancer before it starts in virus carriers

Summary
This study is testing whether the drug mogamulizumab can prevent adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma from developing in people who carry the HTLV-1 virus and show high-risk signs in their blood. Researchers will give a limited course of the drug to 134 participants to see if it significantly reduces the virus levels in their immune cells and prevents cancer. The goal is to stop this aggressive cancer before it ever develops in at-risk individuals.
